Han Calisthenics 漢導引 Movement 2 also known as Arm Arching - 漢導引第二式 托天抱月,
this movement serves to loosen the shoulders and stretch the body and limbs for
Qi activation.
Han Calisthenics Movement 2 - 漢導引第二式 Main Points:
Throw arms up and down sideway from below the naval to above the head in a
semi-circular movement.
See steps described below. Repeat steps 3 through 6 slowly nine times.
Inhale when moving arms upward with a "Hung" sound and exhale on their way down
with a "Ha" sound.
Han Calisthenics Movement 2 - 漢導引第二式 Method:
1: The heels of the feet remain together and the front parts the feet move
sideways to be one line and the legs are kept straight.
2: The left hand is placed below the naval palm up, and the rig hand placed
underneath the left hand, palm touching the back the left hand and the thumb the
right hal1d above that of the left.
3: Breathe naturally.
4: Arch the arms above the shoulders, with the palms up and fingers apart. The
head is slight: raised and the eyes look slightly upward. While raising up the
arms, utter the sound "Heng" simultaneously.
5: Then lower the arms to their original positions and utter "Ha" at the same
time.
6: Do 4: and 5: three times..
Han Calisthenics Movement 2 - 漢導引第二式 Note:
The purpose of the "Hung" sound is to vibrate the thorax. Use the "Ha" sound to expel all of the air from your lungs.
